Visited Saigon II this past Thursday, September 26, 2019 with my step-father. It was cold and wet outside and we had been doing some seasonal yard work, so we were chilled to the bone and craving bowls of spicy soup and Vietnamese rolls. I hadn't been back since December 2018 just before Xmas and had watched the steaming soup bowls jealousy glide past my table. (Had a chicken rice bowl that day which was great!) We headed over to the restaurant around 5:30. There was only one table of customers, we were greeted and asked to sit any where we liked. More tables quickly arrived soon after. First service was within 5 min and we ordered a the curry soup bowl, Vietnamese soup with pork & beef and an order of Vietnamese rolls. I was asked if I liked spicy soup. I of course answers "yes"! The lady asked if I was "sure" lol I answered that is what I am seeking. Lol The order was accepted.
Lol
It wasn't long after the arrival of a pot of steaming hot green tea that the Vietnamese rolls arrived, shortly followed by both bowls of soup.
The spicy aromas filed my nostrils and as promised, the broth was quite spicy with a bit of a tang. The meats were tender and sized perfectly. Noodles cooked but firm, not sogy. This is the perfect Vietnamese soup! Happiness!!!
My step-father had the curry soup bowl which I tried and it was very good as well. See the attached pics of all three dishes. Heading back again and hopefully again after that!
If your cold and only a magic bowl of soup will do, head to Saigon II!!! Thank you SII and see you soon!! -

Great food, very prompt service. Had the shrimp and spring roll appetizers, and a shrimp + crab pho bowl (just called soup on the menu). Was quite delicious! Only beef as a bit of a perfectionist was that their menu was littered with typos - not a hard thing to fix to be honest.
Contrary to the information on Yelp, they do deliver - for free when your order reaches a certain amount. -

Good food, prompt service, fresh and simple broth perfect for adding a satay too to spice it up to your taste. All in all a great stop while I was in town for a light meal before going home.

Very slow service. Service is understaffed and inexperienced; only one person working the front cash, answering the phones, taking the orders, serving the food, and providing the rest of the services. Heard other complaints about the service from the guy a couple of tables down. Another family in front of me was seated 5 mins after I arrived, and got served first?! Then, just about 45 minutes after placing my order and the table in front finishing their food, I finally get my order which was only 2 dishes. Server forgot to put my order through. All tables were dirty upon entering and only cleaned them as customers needed them. Unbelievable how they are still in business! Was really hoping for a good experience after reading the reviews.

A little like a "first kiss"-- the first place I ever had Vietnamese soup (pho)--back in the early 90s. When I visited this time, it still has its family feel, friendly service and great food. No--I didn't have the pho this time. In fact, it's not even called pho on the menu anymore. Oh, and the hoisin sauce was missing on the tables. You remember all those details about that first kiss.
